Maitreiyi M of class 5L had a successful run at the U-11 National Chess Championship – 2025, held in Jalgaon, Maharashtra. She scored an impressive 7 out of 11 points (5 wins, 4 draws, and 2 losses).
Her notable achievements at the national level include:
- Ranking: She was ranked 36th in India.
- Qualification: She became eligible to participate in both the South Asian and Commonwealth Championships.
- Rating: Her rating increased by 52 points.
- Award: She received a medal and a cash prize of ₹900.
Maitreiyi also participated in the CBSE South Zone Chess Championship – 2025, which was held at Chettinad Public School in Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu. Playing in the Under-11 Girls Category, she scored 5.5 out of 7 points, winning the second place and a silver medal.

⮚ Participated in 30th Tiruvallur District Selection Chess Championship in Sethu Baskara Matriculation School, Chennai, on 31.12.2025 – 01.01.2026. She played in U-13 girls’ category, she scored 6/7 points and won 2nd place – Runner Up of the tournament.
⮚ She continued her winning streak at the Forking Knights Academy Open Chess Tournament, held at Nehru Stadium, Chennai, on 10th January, 2026. Competing in the Open category, she delivered a strong performance with a score of 5/7 points, securing 3rd Place in the Below 1600 Rating category along with a cash prize.
⮚ She showcased exceptional skill at the International Rapid FIDE Open Chess Tournament, organized by Eight Square Chess Academy at Nehru Stadium on 11th January, 2026. Competing in a challenging field, she secured 3rd Place in the U-11 Girls’ category with a strong finish of 5/9 points.
